Season is winding down :-(

Postby Hunter25 » Thu Dec 03, 2009 9:17 am

Hunting LI this weekend with John, it should be good as the temperatures are going to drop and the second rut should be kicking in. I can’t wait to get back after them. Next weekend we are heading back upstate for the last weekend of gun. Maybe I can fill my bear tag or shoot a coyote. Just eager to get back out in the woods. Good luck to all as the season winds down and transitions into duck season.

Hey Mike this is Erik . Incase you do not know who i am, i am the kid who hunts and works with Gordon alot.
I was just wondering if you guys post the videos that you shoot in the woods up on this website?
like the ones of someone shooting the film while someone else is shooting the deer?
by the way, this is a very well made website. i have told one of my friends from school about it too and he really likes it to .
i will be at Uncle Bobs next weekend for the final weekend of gun season. and my friend from school might be joining us,
very nice website and ill see you next weekend.

We are in the process of making a DVD of our season so far. It should be done shortly after the season ends. We are in the process of trying to find a good way to post the videos. The last time we tried the quality wasn’t that great. Once the DVD is done I will send you a copy. We will be back up next weekend. It is supposed to be really cold so the deer should be moving well. I would like to get a doe kill on film with my muzzleloader, for the movie as well. Thanks for joining the forum, it’s always nice to have other hunters to share stories and experiences with. See you next weekend.

Hey Erik. It's Joe, Mike's brother. I do most of the website design and work so if you would like to see anything or have suggestions, just let us know. We will be at the farm this weekend so will probably see you there. I am probably going to go coyote hunting since I got a deer already. About the videos, we usually make a DVD after the season ends, but this year might just put the videos on our website instead, not sure yet. Definitely keep in touch and we will let you know what we do and can send you a DVD if we don't post the videos. I am in the process now of transferring all the video to the computer to be edited. Talk to you soon.

Ok thank you,
ive got a question about the bow season, why does the season go from October 17-November 20. and then it starts up again on December 14-22.
this seems kind of strange to me. Thanks again.
See you all this weekend. -Erik O

It's the late bow season and is also muzzleloader season.

Bow season always closes during the gun season, but then there is a late season that lasts for a week after the gun season like Joe said. During the late season you can hunt with muzzleloader or bow. Not sure why they wouldn’t let you bow hunt during the gun season, but it has been like that forever.

You can use a bow during the gun season if you have a regular season tag....... You cannot bowhunt during the regular season with just a "bow tag". I usually use my bow during gun season more than my gun......
